A hydraulic cylinder is a volumetric, cylindrical engine that supplies working fluid under pressure, setting in motion any unit of the hydraulic system. This mechanism is widely used in such types of special equipment as excavators, rollers, earthmoving, quarry machines, drilling rigs, machine tools, presses, cranes, etc.

Operating principle:

In the standard case, the basis of the design is a sleeve – a pipe with a carefully processed inner surface, inside which a piston moves, having rubber cuff seals that prevent the working fluid from flowing out of the cylinder cavities separated by the piston. When the working fluid is supplied to the cavity, the fluid begins to move under pressure.

The piston force is created by a special polished rod or stock. The seal between the stock and the cover consists of two cuffs: one prevents liquid leakage, the second serves as a dirt remover. The eye serves to secure the hydraulic cylinder body. The operation of the hydraulic cylinder is controlled by a hydraulic distributor.
