Industrial Hoses Almaty: Application Areas and Selection

Шланги Алматы промышленные

Various enterprises in the city of Almaty use a huge amount of various equipment. Including without industrial hoses, no plant can do. Even in such industrial enterprises as chemical, food, steel casting production, industrial hoses are used.

Industrial hoses are designed to move various substances under pressure, namely:

  • liquid;
  • gaseous;
  • explosive materials;
  • various aggressive chemical agents;
  • highly abrasive particles;
  • viscous substances.

From the above, we can conclude that the quality of the industrial hose must be at the highest level and must meet the highest requirements. So, at the moment the market offers a wide range of industrial hoses and equipment for various materials and conditions of use, different lengths and diameters.

Types of hoses:

1. Flexible hoses for pumping H2O. They are usually quite elastic. They are used to pump clean water from wells or other reservoirs. The hoses work with both drinking and industrial water. They are used in drainage systems, as well as in industrial systems – for cleaning cesspools, etc. They maintain excellent flexibility at very low temperatures.

2. Hoses approved for contact with food products. These are flexible hoses made of safe fiber, they are used to pump water, milk, and even alcoholic beverages, but not stronger than 30%.

3. Suction hoses. They usually have a large diameter, work with cesspools or in production. The main requirement for such a hose is its strength.

4. Teflon sleeves. A separate type of equipment that is used to connect two or more installations. They work under high pressure. Also, Teflon hoses help to withstand heavy loads and changes in strong vibrations or pulsations.

Application of hoses

Industrial hoses have found their application in such areas as:

  • Oil production. Here, hoses of various types are used, but almost all of them are designed to pump oil or fuel of various types between two tanks, which can be located both on sea vessels and in cisterns on land. This hose is suitable for transportation, it contains alloys of lighter metals.
  • Food industry. The most important condition for equipment that comes into contact with food is its non-toxicity and safety. This industry has in its arsenal hoses of different diameters and purposes – for water, milk, alcohol or oils. All of them are subject to strict control by the relevant services and cannot be used simultaneously in parallel areas, even within the same industry. For example, a hose that was used to pump fats is not suitable for working with milk.
  • Chemical industry. This is primarily work with different types of fuel – gasoline, diesel, or technical liquids. The sleeve is designed to pump these compounds from one tank to another for transportation or refueling. Special requirements are imposed on the walls of these sleeves – they must be resistant to the effects of the chemical liquid.
  • Mechanical engineering. A wide range of hoses for various substances. All of them are of very different diameters and structures.
  • Agriculture. In this type of production, hoses are mainly used for working with fertilizers and chemical compounds to protect crops from pests. Therefore, such hoses must also be made of durable materials. A rupture of a low-quality hose can sometimes lead to unpleasant consequences.
  • Wood processing industry. In production, the main nom use hoses to transport compressed air.
  • Construction industry. Construction production uses hoses to transport building solutions. All these substances are abrasive, so the inner layer of the hose must be resistant to abrasion.
  • Steel industry. Here they are used in the manufacture of steel and glass. The outer layer of such a sleeve must be resistant to splashes of these materials.
  • Foundry industry. In foundry production, hoses are used for cooling and protection in places where it is too hot. For example, in smelting furnaces. Such hoses must be adapted to work where the temperature is high.

Choosing an industrial hose

Almost all modern industrial hoses are elastic. Their elasticity is measured by the bending radius. It is prescribed in the instructions and specifications that are attached to any hose of this type.

There are special hoses for each industry. Hoses differ from each other in material, technical characteristics. For example, hoses intended for the foundry industry cannot be used in the food industry and vice versa. Therefore, it is worth taking the choice of an industrial hose very seriously. You need to decide what kind of hose you need, find out what material it is made of, and so on.

Choosing hoses

The most important thing is to answer the following questions:

  • Are you going to drain or suck in water? This parameter determines what kind of hose you need to perform certain jobs.
  • For example, a suction hose must be reinforced, unlike a pressure hose.
  • What kind of medium will you transport with the hose? It can be fuel, milk, drinking water, or gas. The areas of application of this type of equipment are varied.
  • What temperature and pressure will the hose be exposed to? For example, in the foundry industry, the hose must withstand higher temperatures than in the food industry.
  • What flow rate is required? You need to know this in order to select a hose of the correct diameter.
  • What are the additional requirements for the hose? That is, you need to know what material the hose is made of. Either it will be a material for food production, or a hose for the construction industry is needed, where the inner layer must be resistant to abrasion, and so on.

If you have found the answers to all the questions posed above, then choosing the hose you need will not be so difficult.

The most important parameters that you should pay attention to are the purpose of the hose. Its elasticity and the quality of the material from which the corrugation is made.

You should also consider that the hose must correspond to its purpose. Different types of work require their own equipment. It is unacceptable to perform the same work with different types of hoses, just as it is unacceptable to spray, suck, or change liquids with different properties and characteristics with one hose.

When working with an industrial hose under high pressure, do not forget about the safety measures that must be observed.

Corrosive chemicals, reagents, or abrasive particles, when under high pressure, can cause serious harm to human life and health.
